The Chords Bridge, Jerusalem
The Chords Bridge in Jerusalem, a magnificent creation by architect Santiago Calatrava, is more than just a bridge – it is a symbol of innovation and beauty. With its impressive height of 119 meters and a length of 380 meters, the bridge perfectly integrates into the Old City’s landscape, adding a modern touch.
Every photographic angle reveals a new detail, and the changing light throughout the day gives it a different and enchanting appearance each time. In the morning hours, the gentle sun complements the stainless steel and glass, and at Sunset, the bridge appears like a rainbow of warm colors. At night, it is filled with dramatic lighting that highlights the taut strings and the iconic structure.
The Chords Bridge is not only a work of art but also a vital part of Jerusalem’s transportation infrastructure, serving as a passage for the light rail and pedestrians. It symbolizes the connection between Jerusalem’s rich history and the hope for a flourishing and progressive future.
Every time I photographed the bridge, I not only documented the moment but also a part of the city’s ongoing story. This is a bridge that invites visitors and residents to observe and appreciate the dynamism and beauty of Jerusalem, a city where past and future meet in perfect harmony.
